FROZEN IN IOWA

Today the wind chill was about -50*!!!!!!

So this morning my carpool buddy sent me a text message on my phone:
Traci: Want me to drive today?
Me: Is it icy?
Traci: I dont think so, but it does look really scary out there!
Me: Ok you can drive!

What a good person to carpool with.. or maybe she was just scared for her life with me driving in the VERY windy 0 visibility weather ( due to blowing snow!!)

We made it half way to school, where we met our other carpool buddies- and then had to make a tough decision: to go on or go home! I called up my professor then and asked her if it was alright if we did not come and she was like " Turn around, I don't want you to hurt yourself."

So we spent 15 mins in the parking lot trying to decide what we were going to do.. brave the weather and go to school or go home. I really wanted to go to school and we decided that we best not miss class.. so we made the final trek to school.

It was a good day and I am glad we went. When we came home at 3 today the weather was a bit windy, really cold, but we could actully see ahead of us!!

Anyways.. thought I would share the story with you all! It was weird because yesterday was really warm ( warm being 40*!) and now it is it SO cold!!!!

Hope you all are doing well... and if you can please keep my carpool buddy's mom in your prayers. She just found out she has a tumor the size of a football in her abdomen ( still unsure if it is cancer) and then she was just diagnosed with breast cancer this weekend. It is really hard on my friend... and her mom is younger, 51 y/o, with younger siblings.

It all works out in the end

Tonight roommate number two got engaged! It was really exciting because I had a bet that she was going to get engaged before Feb. 1 and sure enough they did!

It is so weird.. having all my friends getting engaged, married, and some are now even having babies. In my high school, my silly little plan for my life was that I was supposed to be married by the time I was 23 ( which will be next month!!) Don't get me wrong, I am SO glad how my life is now and I would not change it for anything, but its hard not to get jealous when you see the joy in the couples eyes as they excitingly tell us their story and see so much joy and excitement to spend the rest of their lives together. Then my other roommate is planning her wedding for June 14 and we like to talk about her wedding and her future plans with Matt. I just get envious of them... I know I should not ..but it's just hard when you are so submerged in it. However, I know that I am where God wants me to be in life and I am so thankful for my life and how God has planned it for me.

not much to write.

Hello everyone!!
I really have not posted so much but nothing much has been happening lately... well.. nothing that is too interesting!

Well, last week my co-worker set me up on a blind date with her friend... and we all went on a double date together. It was really fun.. very comfortable.. and then we hung out a could times after.. but when he asked me if I wanted to actually date him, I had to turn him down. School has been so busy already and I have to be married to it in order for me to get good grades and be the best PTA ever! I have no time for anything else but my work, homework, and the occasional times I hang out with friends. It was hard to turn the poor guy down ( especially after he went to see a very girly movie with me!!) but I have to have my priorities set!

Anyways.. talking about school... I was at school from 8:30 to 6 yesterday.. a LONG time!! We had to get orientated for a hospital in Sioux City, just so we can have clinicals there. There was about 100 people in this big lecture room and I was once of the last people to come in. As i was walking up the the stairs I was telling my friend that I was going to sit by her and then I full out tripped in front of everyone and it was SO embarrassing! It was really funny though.. made me... and all the other 100 people in there laugh too. However, there is a lesson to learn. You have to laugh at your mistakes... if not.. my day would have totally been ruined by embarrassment.

Anyways... thats about it for now.. I have to work all weekend so that won't be fun but oh well!!!

Hope everyone is doing well!

I could not stop laughing

Serious.. today I was in class from 9:30 - 3 and it was just so funny and fun today.

I won't go through the whole day and say what was funny but here is a story we had to write to help us learn some terms ... enjoy and hope you get it!

: rachel went on a blind date. It started with the boy extending his arm to her as she tightly flexed her fingers in his hand. She wanted to more more proximal to him but opted to remain distal for she had only known him for 10 mins. His radiance glowed from from his suerior to inferior aspects. As they arrived proximal to their destination she realized they where going to the bowling alley and she flexed her elbows and exclaimed "YES!"

After her first strike she fully abducted her shoulder followed by bilateral circumduction. The next frame did not go so well, she went for a running start, slipped on the greasy lane and found herself prone in the gutter. Her date ran to her side, flexed his trunk ( with proper mechanics.. using the power lift) picked her up into his elbow flexed arms. He took her home and laid her supine on her doorstep and abducted himself as far away as possible!"

I just thought that was really funny.. :) Sorry if you did not get it all!

Can't wait to start school!!

7 thick textbooks * ( 2 classes + my life savings) = SCHOOL IS STARTING AGAIN TOMORROW!!!!

I am VERY excited to start school again tomorrow. I HATE sitting around doing nothing when I am not working or hanging out with friends. The last couple weeks I have been :

working a lot ( even got overtime last week.. whoo hooo! ) My co-workers are awesome
babysitting ( gotta love the kids)
catching up with old friends ( miss all you old Dordt friends :( ) ,
internet searching ( you can discover some interesting things with a couple clicks of the mouse)
reading ( Finding the Will of God is still the BEST BOOK EVER!)
changing my car oil ( more like paying someone to do it!) ,
Trying to get my friends to skip work and hang out with me ( which did not work really well)
making up new hairstyles ( that you would probably never see:S )

Thinking about my little nephews and family :(
sleeping a WHOLE lot (what else are you supposed to do in the morning??)
causing just a little bit of trouble ( which just for me to know and you not to find out!)
hanging out around town ( Sioux center is a really a fun place)
losing my drivers license and finding it in WALMART'S lost and found,
prune and prune juice drinking contest ( REALLY BAD IDEA!!),
seeing a couple of movies ( BUCKET LIST is a REALLY GOOD MOVIE and so is P.S I Love You)
rearranging my room ( cleaning out all the drawers and closets!!-- its so pretty now!!)
cleaning my house
meeting new people (some really interesting ones too.. :S )
had a roommate date to Sioux Falls
and finally.. HOPEFULLY this weekend I can go ice fishing!!!!!

Seriously.. I am now running out of things to do so it's nice school is about to start so then my list of of things to do will be Eat, sleep, study, work, and fun when I can fit it in!

Anyways..
thats about it for now I think!

A little girl stole my heart

One of my co-workers ( an older, widowed lady) just got two foster children ages 3 and 5. The little kids have been homeless, living on the streets with their druggie mother, and sexually and physically abused until July when they were placed into a foster home. However, the other home they were at could not take them anymore so they ended up here. Well my co worker had to work early on Sat. morning so I offered to watch the kids while she had to work. They are really cute kids ( a lot of energy!) but we had fun playing together.. especially since the weather was warmer ( 40*!!!!!) Then we came into eat and the little girl was eager to pray before we ate. I let her pray and she prayed for her mom and she said " Please help mommy to stop using drugs so we can go home" .. and it broke my heart. I asked her if she prayed for her a lot and she said that she often goes to her room alone and prays that her mom would stop using the drugs. It just breaks my heart.. Then I had to put the little boy down for a nap he started cry saying that he wanted to go home and that he wanted his mom. :( It just was so sad to me all the kids had to put up with for the first 5 and 3 years of life. It also made me so sad when the little girl told me that she wished that I could be her mom :( It makes me want to have foster kids someday so that I can help them and show them the love that they deserve.

Anyways, other than that my weekend has been good. I have an early morning tomorrow at 5:30 so that should be really fun :S ! I hope everyone is doing well !

On another note... if anyone is bored.. or just interested in the life of Rachel Anne Feucht and her friends and family, you may look at the websites I made with a good selection of pictures. So far I have them sorted in Christmas, Summer and Senior year of college. http://gallery.mac.com/rfeucht
