What a life I live

hello,
I am sorry I have not written in such a long time. It has been a busy week since I have been back to school. I had two different tests and a big physics assignment. I did well on both my tests and finished my physics homework. Now it is finally time for my busy weekend.

However, I will give you my spin on spring break.. not that Josh's wasn't good enough, but maybe you would like to hear my side about how my family scared him and how he is never coming back! (Not really, though, just trying to add an interesting twist!!)

I am sorry, but I am not going to go over the whole trip (since it might bore you a little bit) but I will go over my highlights :)

1. Traveling on the airplane with Josh. At first we did not get tickets sitting together but we were able to work it out so that we got to sit together on all our flights (even getting free upgrades on our seats to a higher class!!) Even though flying is not the most fun thing, it was fun having Josh there with me. It was nice to have someone to keep me company when the airlines messed up our flights and during the super long fights!

2. Having him meet the whole family. Family is important to me so I am glad he liked them.... I would not know what to do if he did not :( They also really liked him, which I had NO doubt about!!

3. Getting to see my two nephews! I got to see a side of Josh I never really saw before... him with kids. I have seen him with Caleb but Caleb is still so young (two months old), so Josh really can't play so much with him. Josh was always sitting down with the boys and making them laugh. They just LOVED him!!

That is so cute.. what do you think??

4. Going to the zoo. On a drizzly day we went to the zoo with Patrick and it was SO much fun! He loved the animals, except for the huge fish which he was quite scared of. However, he would back up about five feet, then yell "RAAAARRRRR" at them. It was really cute! We did not get any digital pictures taken at the zoo.. but we got some film pictures while we were there, so hopefully those turned out!

5. Going to Seattle. It is nice when you have a brother-in-law who will drive you around in Seattle, because I hate driving! Plus, I don't know how to get around in Seattle! My parents watched the little boys and Sarah, Andrew, Josh, and I went on a double date to Seattle and then to Bellevue to eat at the Cheesecake Factory. Good time and good food!

6. Seeing Lori, Kyle, and Caleb in Lincoln and the rest of Josh's family in Edgerton. It is nice to get to know Josh's AWESOME family better and they are all so kind to me whenever I see them. Caleb is growing up so fast !!!!

Now I am back with about 5 weeks to go. It's hard thinking about the future and what is going to come after graduation, but I am trusting the Lord that he will guide me to where I belong and what I should be doing. It's scary that soon I will be leaving all my friends, the life I have know for the past 4 year, and now Josh. :( Well whatever happens to each of us is in God's hands... and now I just trust and obey :)

Thats about it for now!! I hope you are all doing well!!!!!!

The long awaited return

Hello all, its Josh, posting for the first time in quite a while.
Well, break is now officially over and classes have officially resumed, which all means that I am officially almost graduated. Something like 6 weeks of classes and 1 week of exams until I am done with my undergraduate work. Still seems like a fairly long time to me, but I'm sure it will fly by all too quickly.
But on a happier note, I had an AWESOME spring break. We left on Wednesday the 14th and flew out to visit Rachel's family. It was a lot of fun. We stayed at her Sarah and Andrew's, played with Sammy and Patrick a lot, hung out with the family, and saw some of the sights in the area. I won't bore you with all the details, since most of you already know the details much better than I could succinctly express them.
Favorite memories from the trip: smoking my first cigar (Cuban - Cohiba), going to the zoo with Rach and Patrick, The Cheesecake Factory and trying to figure out how to get cheesecake without nuts, heated and tense games of Settlers, Outburst!, and Cranium, my rediscovered love of Warheads!, my newly discovered dislike of chocolate lollypops, changing my first diaper (ever), and seeing Caleb and Kyle and Lori, just to name a few. I'm sure I forgot some, hopefully Rach will notice my mistake and correct me.
It was a great break, my mind got a much needed break from the constant overstimulation from the previous 2 months.
Hard to believe college is almost over. It hardly seems like 3.5 years ago I was a meager freshman trying to fit in to this vastly different environment, choking down Mexican night at the commons, cramming for my first Calculus and Physics exams, and mastering the wonderful world of Halo (for those of you who don't know Halo, shame on you). So much has changed since then, most all of it for the better. I've learned a TON, made a lot of new friendships, and met a wonderful girl who, sadly, doesn't live in the midwest (what are the chances of that at Dordt anyways?).
Well, as fun as reminiscing has been, I need to round up some more items for Hope Haven's auction. I wish you all a wonderful week, sorry for the lack of posting. And to Rachel's family; I had a wonderful time meeting you all, thanks for the marvelous time, I can only hope that I will see you again soon!

4. The coffee was awesome this morning.
5. I get to see my nephews in a few days and have no school for almost 2 weeks!
6. I actually hit all the balls pitched to me in softball!
7. I had an interesting class in interpersonal communications (my favorite class!!)
8. I passed another medical terminology test, on the urinary system... how fun ;)

I miss the sun!!!

FINALLY... there is nice weather outside!!! It is going to be 50* and from here on it is going to get warmer and warmer!!! I think the bad weather is why I have not been in the best mood recently. I really miss the sun and it brightens my day when it is out!

I hope that Washington has nice weather when we go home next week..... or else I am going to steal a car and drive south until I find the sun! (Just kidding!!) I am really excited to go home to see my little boys in Washington... and my family too... :)

In all, I am so excited the snow is melting... bringing in the camping and out door weather FINALLY!

Hope you all have a good weekend... sorry no cool pictures to post... nothing too exciting happened this week... studying, that's about it... so I could have taken a picture of that... but it's not too interesting to see. So maybe this weekend there will be pictures!

"Every mile a memory"

Hello All :)
Well, this was quite the weekend. On Friday, everyone was basically stuck at Dordt because the roads were so bad. I had no work because there were only two children in the whole daycare for the day... so I got the day off. Laura and I decided to go to coffee, however, the college coffee shop was not open yet so we walked about a mile to the nice coffee shop that Sioux center just got and we enjoyed a nice cookie milkshake. Then we walked to the store and got the stuff to make taco salad, then came home. However Laura was called to work and the fire chief had to come pick her up in his truck because the roads were so bad. SO the rest of Friday I spent with the girls, playing games and watching movies and also doing homework to prepare for the real highlight of the weekend... going to Lincoln!!!

Sat. morning Josh and I woke up early. Well if you can call 6 early... to get picked up by his parents to start our trek to Lincoln. However, it was a little iffy if we were really going to go since the roads were so bad and a lot of the highways were actually closed. When the parents got here we went to eat and decide if we should really go, and of course we decided to risk it. After 6 hours (which is supposed to only be 3) and 136 cars in the ditch. we finally made it to Lincoln!! I got to meet Kyle (Josh’s brother), Lori (sister in law) and nephew (Caleb), who are all awesome people. Caleb is VERY cute and he is so lucky to have awesome parents! We had an enjoyable time there. We played games (which Josh and I won one of them!!) and went to eat at very good restaurants. The hotel we stayed at was really awesome also. It was a suite that had a loft with a sweet queen sized bed with suede covers and pillows and its own bathroom. The downstairs had a kitchen, bedroom and bathroom (for the parents) and a TV room and couch (for josh to sleep on. Sorry Josh!)

On Sunday we went to Kyle and Lori's church. They attend a PCA church (which is my denomination) and to my surprise Elijah Williams, one of my friends in high school, also attendes this church!! What small world!!

In all, the trip was awesome. I am so glad I was able to come... and Josh's parents were so sweet to me and treated me out to all my meals, which was so kind of them. It was fun to meet Kyle and Lori (and of course Caleb!!) and I look forward to seeing them again soon!!!!

Now this week won’t be too much fun.. I have 2 tests, one in physics and the other will be an easier one.. so I am not too worried about it. I will spend all week studying though.. super fun...!

Well here are pictures... hope you enjoy!

Blizzard!!

BRRRR!! It has been snowing all day long.. and everything here in sioux center is DEAD! The snow keeps blowing and falling.. and in some parts of the side walk the snow goes to my knees! ( But keep in mind.. i am a little short ;) ) I had a class cancelled and no work! So I am making the most of my day and it has been fun. The girls ( and Josh :D) took some time to go outside and take pictures. So here are a couple of them!!

Also on Sat, I am going to go up with Josh and his family to meet his little nephew caleb. I am really excited because he is SUCH a cute baby.. I normally don't admit that kids are almost as cute as my nephews but for Caleb I have to admit that he is pretty darn cute!!! Here is a picture.. I hope they don't mind me putting one up!:S
