It has been over a month since Rachel updated her blog, and I came to the conclusion that this was simply unacceptable. In this day and age, blogs are a very easy and efficient way to keep people up to date on what is going on in ones life, so to leave family and friends without a blog post in more than a month is something that is unacceptable. I (Josh) after discussing this problem with Rachel have decided to take this into my own hands. She logged me in to her account and I will update you on whats been happening in her exciting life.
I picked her and Diane up from the airport on Monday the 15th of January. School started the next day.
I have a pretty easy semester, so I am using my free time to keep Rachel out of trouble, and I'm also doing an internship at Hope Haven. Hope Haven is a non-profit organization that builds and refurbishes wheelchairs and sends them to people who are in need all over the world. Last year, they shipped over 63,000 wheelchairs to children and adults in 101 countries. They also help physically and mentally handicapped people find jobs and live as normal of a life as possible. I really like my job, I'm helping to solicit money and item donations from many local businesses for the annual benefit auction. We hope to raise $50,000 this year, which will sponsor a lot of wheelchairs. I find my job very rewarding, and I also get to help plan for a benefit golf tournament, and I love golf, so thats really exciting. I also just became an uncle! Caleb Wallace Fey was born to Kyle and Lori Fey on Thursday January 25. A healthy baby of 7 lbs. 5.5 oz. He is adorable; I got to see him yesterday and I want to go back already!
Well, back to Rachel's life. She resumed working at the day care here in town, which she seems to love. Her classes are going well, and when she struggles with a Physics problem, she asks me for assistance, (if only I remembered how to do it). Her room is now down to 5 girls as Jessica went to Washington DC for the semester. She is definitely missed, but I don't think they complain about the extra space. Rachel has been watching a fair share of Veronica Mars, and I watch with her sometimes. I am trying to get Rachel into bowling, but that has proved to be quite ineffective. Maybe golf will prove more successful when the spring comes around. Otherwise she stays busy playing Settlers of Catan and making some amazing pancakes (I've heard that she can't wait to make me waffles, so I'm excited for that). She told me to write that she is doing very well on her homework and studying all the time, but whether you believe her or me is up to you. She does miss her family (she didn't even tell me to say that), especially Patrick and Sammy, but she's quite the social butterfly here at college too. We went to Diane's art show on Friday night, which was fun. I have to admit that it is the first one I have been too, so its good for me to get a taste of high society once!
She's happy to be back, but sad that it is her last semester. She's on track to making it her best one yet though!
Well, she actually needs to use the computer for homework, so I'll wrap this up.
Have a great day everyone, I'll try to make sure she updates this more regularly (so you don't have to hear from me again!).
